BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

It is not my business to become your partner. What I do is listen to your ideas and assist you in organizing them into a business proposal. I make sure that you have all the basics in place, if not, I fill in the gaps where needed, and complete the picture.  If you are already in business and need to evaluate your systems in order to upgrade, we can do that too! The first thing we need to do is an evaluation.

THE EVALUATION:

Here's how it works. I give you a questionnaire to answer regarding your concept. These questions cover basic business practices and how they pertain to your concept. This will give us a good perspective of where you are in the process of actually starting your business.  

Once I review the survey and evaluate what you need, we can set up a phone or personal appointment for a free initial consultation. At that time, we review the survey. We can then talk about filling in the gaps and what that will take. That's called the Development Process.

DEVELOPMENT PROCESS:

Where your business development begins, depends on where you are in the process- and there is a process. Once you have a concept and you’ve done all your homework, we gather it all up and organize it. That is called the Concept Stage.

From the Concept Stage you move forward to the Business Plan Stage. Here is where you really look at the numbers for start up costs and maintenance, set goals and form a plan of action to meet them. Then we set up all the business systems and graphics. If you want a web site, this plan is the source of your web. Think of this time as "laying the foundation". If you make it solid, you can build sky scrapers!

Then you simply start your business... or web site, and eventually you will reach the Business Update Stage.  Once you have an established business, there are always updates and changes to be made.  Depending on your current needs, we determine what upgrades would work for you and implement them.

CONCEPT STAGE:

To begin with, what I do is ask questions regarding all aspects of your particular concept along with common business practices.  There will be some serious questions you need to answer. It’s your venture. If you don’t have the answers, you need to go out, investigate, and get them!  

Once you gather up all the information regarding your concept, it's time to organize it. I help you to categorize and document the information to show a clear and concise concept of your business.

BUSINESS PLAN STAGE:

Your completed business concept information is the key to the actual business plan. Here, we deal with the actual physical and financial aspects of your business.

Your plan will consist of a complete description of your service or product based business. It will have pertinent information regarding how you plan to set up and run the business itself. Location information such as; the cost to get in and prepare the location, fixtures and furnishings, as well as, utilities, phone and licensing expenses. What the start up costs will be for inventory and to produce your service or product. Set up or price out the type of business systems appropriate for your business. The kind of help you will need; specialty services, employees, or partners. Also, advertising and marketing strategy and documented plans that will incorporate an estimate of growth projections.

Business Update STAGE:

Let’s say you already put your business plan into action and your venture has started to pay off. Your needs could be different now. It may be time to update!

Here too, we must first do an evaluation. We take this time to review your current policies and procedures. Evaluate your businesses strengths and figure out why they work so well. We then try to incorporate some of those qualities into the areas where you are experiencing obstacles.

Depending on how efficiently your business systems are working, we determine what upgrades would work for you and apply them. If you are installing or upgrading your computerized system and need to customize the programs for your needs, I can help you with that.
